This text has been writing by the writer Abrahim Shah for The News Internationals in October 7, 2019. This article basically talk about the way our society consume more and more everyday and the impact it has on our desire to possessed commodities. The text also explain what capitalism is, why it’s working pretty good and the impact it has on our today’s society.

1. What’s makes capitalism ? 1.1. Why capitalism subsist ? 1.2. How ?

2. What capitalism entail ? 2.1. What it does on us ? 2.2. Consequences

Capitalism is nothing without consumption. Consumption fuels capitalism, and the fact that huge companies like Amazon, Google, Apple etc... are working so good, that what’s make capitalism bigger and bigger everyday. And that, as the text says, at the expense of worker’s livelihoods. For example Amazon has the bad reputation that it doesn’t care about its worker’s condition, about their health, the time spent in work etc... Amazon seems to only care about profits.

Capitalism and consumption manipulate Humans. It make us believe that we need products to be happy, to be completely satisfied. We have to show to other’s that we have money, that we possessed a lot. People are always looking for new things. And moreover, it make us think that commodities could impact our relationship with people, by attracting them (the more we have, the more people wants to be friends with us).

Today, having a lot of clothes (Famous brand’s clothes is even better), living in a big house, driving a luxury car is the best way to succeed in our life. And all those thing, that it’s somehow important to have, became more than what it was first created for. And more commodities other people have, more we desire it too.

Because of this capitalism society, we are all seeking to buy new things, to have the best and it causes a certain way of dependence. It make us feel dissatisfaction and we don’t know how to feel an other way because we don’t even know where this dissatisfaction came from. We have lost our self-confidence.

In deed, capitalism is nothing without consumption. And we are over consuming, this is why capitalism is working so good. Overconsumption is anchored in us and Humans don’t know how to live without consuming that much. As the text explain it, we became dependent on capitalism and consumption. The real question is : Can we live without consuming that much and by the way reverse capitalism ?

What I think is that capitalism isn’t really a good thing because it cause poverty. It’s not everyone who can be rich and if one as all the money, there is no more for others... It made us over consuming and not in the good way of consumption. We destroy the Earth with pollution caused by high companies that produced the commodities we all desire, we are starving poor population because capitalism favors Humans who have enough money or who are rich. We are so manipulated by this capitalism society. They make us believe that it’s important to possessed a lot and we are now pretty dependent to consumption. Being rich is almost essential to live correctly in our actual society, but can we all be rich ? No we cannot. We can’t all consume as much as the society wants to. I think we are responsable for this. If we were not consuming as much as we do, capitalism wouldn’t work. If GAFA’s companies makes all those
