Exposé anglais: La Gastronomie Anglaise

short introduction

This year we will go to England and therefore we should eat English. No panic there are some good dish like pudding, the famous fish and chips or bangers and mash, finally it depends on the perspective!

In general

British cooking is conditioned by the climate, the geography of England and its history. Its history includes many interactions with other European countries and the import of ingredients and ideas from especially North America, China and India, at the time of the British Empire immigration postwar.

Long considered a "heavy" food and "unimaginative", its international reputation has long been limited to breakfast and Christmas dinner.

And what's the dessert?

Several British desserts have long crossed the Channel to our delight, as the crumble, the trifle, the apple pie, the millionaire shortbread, etc. They are sometimes unrecognizable, already because of their name a little massacred by the French us but also that by revisiting things, we move away from the original version. But hey, that's also the kitchen, that must travel!
