Today we are going to talk about the notion of myths and heroes. This year, we have studied many documents, we can link to this notion. But to begin with, we have to define the keyword “myths” and “heroes”. A myth is a story that may or may not be true. A hero is a person who is admired for their courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. We are going to answer the following question. How far is the notion of myth and hero developed in the document, we have studied is class this year? How can we link the notions of myth to the notions of hero?

To begin with, the common point between myths and heroes is the idea that stories or people have to be extraordinary even if they are fictional or real

In class we are going to talk about fictional myths and heroes. In class we have watched a movie entitled “transcendence” with Johnny Dep, in with the main character invents a technological process to make dead people able to communicate with living people. This amazing story develops the myth of eartnel life.

And other myth was developed in the novel “brave new word” by Aldous Huxley published in 1932 when the scientist presents his revolutionary invention call “bokanosvkification process” that allows to clone babies in eggs. This story presents the myth of creation. Men challenges God in the creation of life

We have also studied fictoral heroes like Kavita in the text “Another Girl” who, like a hero, achieves extraordinary thing to save her baby and to fight against her husband’s oppression even if it is dangerous for her

But heroes can also be real like for example Martin Luther King who was famous in the civil right movement in the 1960’s and for his speech “I have a dream” because he wanted to put an end racism between black and white peoples by bringing them together.                                           Women like Rosa Parks were heroes too those two historical characters who were very famous. But people like you and me can also be everyday hero. Victoria Soto who was teacher, saved her pupils in a school, from a gunman’s rampage and eventually she was shot dead

To conclude we can say that fictional or real myths and heroes exist to guides us and give us an example to follow in our lives.
