                                                         Mythes et héros

I am going to talk about the notion of Myths and Heroes. First of all I would like to give a definition of this concept: It can be defined as a story about gods or heroes, it can be a popular belief or a tradition or a false notion. A hero can be a mythological figure, a person who is admired for his or her achievements, a superhero or maybe a role model or an icon.

Why does society create myths and heroes? How can we change our lives? How can myths and heroes change the direction of the race of history?

First, I'll talk about the term hero in general, then I'll talk about modern heroes and finally I'll talk about inequality in American universities.

First, there are two category of hero : ficticious and real. I'm going to talk about real person who became hero. A hero is frequently a symbol who embodies something or someone. A hero stay in our memories thanks to his ideas, his values, his bravery, etc... A hero can be arouse admiration because of his pesonality, the values his upholds like justice, liberty, etc...

I think that everybody can become hero doing little things which make the world a better place.

First of all I’m going  to talk about Steve Jobs, he was a famous businessman, he's one of the co founder of Apple. He started to create computers in his garage and he finished his career at the head of the biggest tech firm in the world. We studied a video and an article. In this documents Steve Jobs is presented as an original entrepreneur because he’s not an engineer yet he creates computers a phone very modern, he is describe as an inspiration for any business person whose career has taken a turn for the worse. he overcame many obstacles and made that his company the biggest tech firm in the world. So for we Steve Jobs is a visionary, able to overcome hardships, he’s a model to follow. Steve Jobs has then a role model because he was a source of inspiration, overcames many obstacles and never gave up. Finally he embodies the fact that failure often leads to success if you keep faith.

Now I’m going to talk about Jeff Bezos, he’s the founder of Amazon, a shopping website online. We studied a newspaper article of the Time written by Bill Gates. In this article Bill Gates described Jeff Bezos as a true pioneer in the field of electronics, he also wrote that he was one of the very first entrepreneurs to make a big bet on electronic; he started to create Amazon when a lot of people didn’t yet even know what the internet was. At the end of the article Bill Gates mentions one of the biggest inventions of Jeff Bezos, the Kindle, this is an electronic book, this invention revolutionizes the way to people buy and read a book. Bill Gates expressed his admiration for Jeff Bezos, he described him as determined and visionary.

finally, we studied a video of stiglitz. In this video we can see that stiglitz states the many inequalities of students in American universities. In fact, poor students have less financial means and therefore less chance of integrating large universities than richer students. There are therefore many social inequalities in American universities. What compels us to say that today the European teachings are much more demanded by the American students for several years, because many Americans do not have access to the big American universities because of their social environment.
