I’m sending this mail to let you know that, according to the new Green IT policy we have introduced recently, I’m in charge of few instructions to suggest you, in order to follow the recycling charter we all need to feel concerned with. Within those actions, the most important for me is to remember that any electronic item thrown away engenders massive effects on our environment, because most of it goes to landfills and incinerators, without getting recycled, and this is not something we want, that’s why I advise you to be SURE that your device is unusable, without any way to get it fixed, and also to recycle it (the red bins you might have seen are from now on available). Also, despite the fact that I know how dedicated you are to cutting-edge technologies, I invite you to think back about your proper needs and wishes, because most of the E-Waste comes from the illusion to own a product that you wish for, before finally realizing how unnecessary it is. I consider your hobbies, your lifestyle, but don’t forget that you’re always putting more money into something that is born to die without letting you the choice. I hope my little process will be quite understood, the rest is up to you.
Best Regards,
John Doe, IT department
