The first 20 hours -- how to learn anything: Josh Kaufman

When we start been parents all the environment changes. You try to make things happen but our priorities change. We identify that in certain point of life we will never able to have free time for ourselves, never again. So Josh is concerned because he wants to keep learning, he wants to keep growing!!

There is so much to learn, he says: 'I want to keep learning something new every day' but investigating and get better needs time.

So he started investigating and he found out that a person needs 10000 hours to learn to do something and he said: 'I won’t be able to learn something again'. The research that he made was from studies made by people with a high level of performance, the conclusion was that all experts expended 10000 hours of time learning and the better they ware, to learn something. This was the massage of Doctor Ericson, and other experts as well.

At the end Josh studies demonstrated that with a little bit of practice, you start been better. When you start something, at the beginning you’re incompetent but when practice a little bit more you start a loop for getting better.

On his’ research conclusion, he identifies that is not necessary to practice 10000 hours to be good in something that makes you be excellent in that something. But with 20 hours, you start will be something good and with much more houres of practice you will be better, you can start from nothing.

if you put 20 hours of practice you will recover the expirience. 20 is not that heard. find a way to practice inteligently. it applys to enithing!!

The steps that Josh Kaufman sugests are:

1. break down the skills. its understud that skils are complicated structures that can be dismembred in smaller organismes to identify the in a simple way the structure of the skill and this way you will be able to identify the procedure required to make a better learning and will pemirt you structur a better learning path. If you practice 20 houer it will be important.

2. the best resources. you will have to identify in your planificartion that you are not taking on to much information that will make you procrastinate and faillur. Identify correctly wich will be the information and the method that will take you to learn your self and the easeast ways.

3. distroy barriers. Identify the best which are the barriers that are destroying your final bective. also, look for an objective that realy make you work to the end, search for your wil power to seat down and practice.

4. practice at least 20 houres

the final reomandations that Josh make are:

- Feeling stupid makes you feel stupid, then practice and you whont feel like that anymore.

- The first 4 hours dedicate them to orginice everything to perform the fallowing hours the best way.

- The mejor barrier for learning soething new is not an intelectual issue it is emotional, but if you put 20 hours practicing effort, on enething, you will succid.

Do it and have fun!!
