Tribute Speech
~ Malala ~
I choose to talk about Malala Yousafzai, a young Pakistani activist of women's rights who, at the age of 17, received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014 with the Indian Kailash Satyarthi for their fight against the oppression of children and for the right of all children to education, which made her the youngest winner in the history of this award.
Malala Yousafzai became known to the general public in early 2009 (two thousand and nine), at the age of 11 (eleven), by his testimony entitled Diary of a Pakistani schoolgirl on a blog for the BBC. With the pseudonym of Gul Makai, she denounces the violence of the Taliban who, after having taken control of the Swat Valley in 2007 (two thousand and seven), burning down schools for girls and murdering their opponents. During the Taliban occupation, his family left the area and separates. It will be held again in July 2009 (two thousand and nine), after the Second Battle of Swat. After the takeover of the valley by the Pakistani army during the Second Battle of Swat in May 2009 (two thousand and nine), she is recognized as a heroine and his name is assigned to the school. July 12 (twelve), 2013 (two thousand and thirteen), at the podium of the United Nations Organisation, Malala Yousafzai talking about access to education for girls. She says in particular : "The extremists are afraid of books and pens. The power of education scares. ". This declaration was greeted with a standing ovation from the congregation.
I chose to talk about Malala because she is very important to me.
I had great difficulty to find the person I wanted to pay tribute, but I finally chose Malala because this girl is fighting for the education of girls, and we often forget that education is a chance .
She has survived at many assassination attempts but she never gave up and that's what makes this girl that I admire.
She is an example for me and for the others too because she teaches us to fight for our rights and never give up and she also reminds us that we should not regard them as due.
Malala is an admirable person because she risked death several times for the right to the education for women, and she does so many things from the top of its 17 (seventeen) years, thousands of people have never accomplished in any one life.
