Crédit Agricole History

Crédit Agricole, nicknamed the "Green Bank" because of its original activity serving the agricultural world, is a French network of cooperative and mutual banks, made up of 39 Crédit Agricole regional banks. In 1990, it became an international general banking group. It is listed via Crédit Agricole S.A. on the Premier Marché of Euronext Paris and is part of the CAC 40 index.

1885: At this date is created the company Crédit Agricole Poligny district in Salins in the Jura. This first local fund, which has the status of trade union, was born to allow farmers to borrow the funds necessary for the development of their activity.

1894: A law, largely initiated by the Minister of Agriculture, Jules Meline, authorizes the creation of local funds and gives them a status of cooperative society: this is the birth of Crédit Agricole. Their field of action is limited to the agricultural world and they can only lend to their members. The Regional Banks, meanwhile, were created by the law of March 31, 1899 to promote the creation of Local Banks and federate them.

Today, the Crédit Agricole is the first Bancassureur in Europe

My internship

I do my internships in a Crédit Agricole Val de France bank branch as commercial assistant. My internship lasted 13 weeks. During this internship, I mainly took care of the complete management of the reception. This internship allowed me to learn how to respond to customer requests and find solutions to the various problems that are submitted to me. In addition, I was able to better understand how to develop the world of work and more specifically the world of bancassurance.

Conclusion

This internship was overall a positive experience. The banking world has several very interesting activities. However currently I wish to continue my studies. So for the moment the banking profession does not interest me.
