Wear A short shirt Make-up High heels [pic 1] Flat heels Dye A low-cut blouse | Sexist dress codes to be banned at work 25 January 20 17 DW Channel Take time, Flowteed not respected Discrimined Norme issu Fashion state Investigad Take a shifted Before my work Feel better Hair blond Social norme Report document Presentable Shoes in the floor |
It is a report from DW Channel produced on 25 January 2017.
It is about the dress code of women at work.
Women are ofter victims of sexism.
At first for women, wearing high heels is for fashion but is also a dress code demanded by companies.
We have Nicola’s story. She came to work with flat heels. So her employer told her to go back home. She decided to organize a petition.
She wanted MPS to investigate. There is the Equality Act, but it is not respected. Women are not judged for their skills but for their look.
Some women are fired because they don’t wear “sexy outfits” and are discriminated. Finally the level of sexism is important in airline compagnies, the tourism industry, but what women wear doesn’t represent a brand, it’s just fashion. They must be free to wear that they want.
To conclude, despite the Equality Act, there is skill sexism at work and I think we must stop it.
