Hi, I'm a x , I'm not qualified to tell you who I am but I know some surprising details about a theory: There are links between different books and the book "The Perks of Being a Wall flower". I'm going to reveal some details that have never been exposed. My sidekick Y will also talk to you about the link.

This side of paradise is a debut-novel (the first novel that publish the author) published in 1920 by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The title is from a Rupert Brooke’s poem, Tiare Tahiti.

The main character of the novel Amory Blaine, an attractive student at the Princeton University who likes Literature. This novel helped F.Scott Fitzgerald to win Zelda Sayre’s hand and marry her. The publication of the novel was her condition of wedding agreement.
The book is written in three parts. The first one is « the romantic egoist ». It talks about Amory Blaine from Minneapolis, who is convinced that he has a promising future. He frequent a university in the New Jersey. While he is at the University, he goes back at Minneapolis, he met a young girl, Isabelle Borgé that he met when he was young. He starts a romantic relationship with her. At the University, he repeatedly writes a lot of loves poems, but Amory and Isabelle become disinterested with each other after meeting again at his prom. Noe this the end of the first part.
The second part is called « Interlude » Just after their break-up, Amory has to serve in the Army in World War I. Amory’s experiences in the war are not described but we learn later in the book that he was an Instructor.
The third parts is called « The Education of a Personnage » After the war, he falls in love with a New York girl named Rosalind Connage. He’s poor, so Rosalind leaves him and marries a rich man from New York. Amory is very sad and devastated bThe author finish with Amory’s iconic lament : « I know myself, but that is all » with a lot of meanings but that is not our questions, we have some experts in an other département on it. We have now to explain you the link between this book and « the Perks of being a wall flower »
Charlie, the main character of the Perks of being a wallflower, receive a lot of books from his English teacher. For example, the Great Gatsby, Hamlet, On the road and this side of paradise… All these books talks about young men growing up, finding their places in society and a need to come to terms with their pasts to be able to move forward. These stories are in line with the maturation that also Charlie goes through. The two characters Charlie and Amory have a lot of similar challenges and troubles but in very different contexts.
