Today, I am going to present you the consequences of weapons in the United States.

It is important to know that the right to bear arms in the United States has been authorized since the second amendment in 1791. The NRA is a non-profit association, its main activity is to protect the right to keep and bear arms. This association finances some political parties, so it gets political support. There are a lot of negative consequences of guns, I will present you some of them.

First of all, it is important to know that there are 120 guns for every 100 people in the United States, so there is a large presence of guns. This abundant presence translates to many shootings. In the year 2022 alone, there were more than 300 mass shootings, which translates to many victims. One of the most violent shootings of 2022 took place in Texas on May 24. Twenty-one people died, the most tragic part of it is that 19 of them are children under 10 years old. They have not even known life yet and they are dead. The president "Joe Biden" has spoken out, saying that we must "fight the gun lobby".

It only needs to be seen if concrete actions are going to be taken.

Moreover, it is necessary to know that there are more than 17 000 deaths linked to firearms since the beginning of the year. But what most people abroad don't know is that 6 out of 10 deaths are suicides.

As you all know, life in the United States is much more difficult from a financial point of view. This causes some people to consider suicide as a solution. But in the minds of there a death by gunshot is more easier than jumping from a great height or whatever. Moreover, death by gunshot is almost immediate. The fact the gun are easily accessible allows some people to take action, because they wouldn’t have the courage to do it otherwise. So guns encourage suicides, with more than 10,000 deaths by suicide in 2022.

In conclusion, we see that there are an enormous number of negative consequences, but nevertheless guns are allowed. Some tragedies that are sometimes in the media, the question of a better control of firearms is put in front of us, but the results are rare.
