The traditional St Patrick's Day is celebrated on March 17th.
The first St Patrick's Day is celebrated in Ireland but now other countries are celebrating it.
St Patrick is the saint patron and national apostle of Ireland. St Patrick is credited with bringing Christianity to Ireland. Saint Patrick's Day has come associated with everything Irish: anything green and gold, shamrocks and luck. St Patrick's Day is a traditional day for spiritual renewal and offering prayers for missionaries worldwide and St Patrick's Day is Green day. Green color is associated with St Patrick's Day because it's the color of shamrocks and spring. And the symbol of Ireland is the shamrocks.
St Patrick's Day is a very big deal. Big cities and towns alike celebrate with parades, « wearing of the green », music and songs, Irish food and drink, and activities for kids such as crafts, coloring and games. Some communities, even go so far as to dye rivers or streams green. And with green color people can dye their hair, color people and paint their faces.
St Patrick's Day is celebrated with colorful parade, it is celebrated with traditional firework and it is celebrated with St Paddy's Night in pubs where people drink famous Guinness and beer and dance.
If we are still far from the jubilation New Yorkers, in France, the Saint Patrick's Day meets for several years a small success with more and more followers. Whereas pubs go to the countryside and chain happy hours, shows and concerts of Celtic music have a full house.
Various shows of Celtic music, dancers and singers will occur in all France with the best Irish, Scottish and Breton troops.
The Disney Village and the park Disneyland Paris celebrate Saint Patrick. The Olympia receives as every year "Celtics Legends".
The Casino of Paris celebrates St Patrick's Day with the "Celtic Show".
Obviously, the Irish pubs will allow you to spend a livened up and friendly evening, some inescapable addresses in the capital: Guiness Tavern 1st, O’Sullivan (18th), The Inn of Cluny 5th, Celtic Corner Pub 15th Of Obrien 7th.
Personally, I do not celebrate the St Patrick's Day.However, I find that it is a magnificent party which gather person of all horizons that we are Irish or not, while having fun. For me the party of the St Patrick's Day is a traditional and eternal party.
