WORK PERMIT SITUATION – BRIEF EXPLANATION

I would like to briefly clarify my work permit situation: I am married, and my husband (who works for a Multinational Company), has been relocated to Geneva.

As you are probably already aware of, for the “Family regrouping” law of the Canton of Geneva^[1], the accompanying spouse of a relocated person will be granted a work permit which is “exempt from quota”.

In a word, this means that there will be no quota deduction for my work permit L, as it will be derived from my husband’s quota, and no need to demonstrate that I own any specific competencies that cannot be found on the Geneva job market.

I would be glad to explain this further, if you wish, in a face-to-face meeting.
