When it comes to the security of a country, crime prevention is a matter of great importance.
It is often said that the security forces of a country must be prepared to anticipate atrocities owing to the fact that they are the ones who have been trained to protect citizens. However, should citizens also stay alert? In this essay, I will discuss two possible approaches to this complex issue.
The first option to consider is
For the majority of citizens, the figure of the police man constitutes today a sign of authority. Therefore, a great number of police officers on the streets would make it more difficult for criminals to commit their crimes.
Despite the protection provided by professionals, people should also take precautions in order to improve the quality of their lifes. Many people think that their home is a place where they can be safe. However, most of them fail to take precautions against thefts. That is why it should be advisable to install locks or keep our entrys well-lit at night.
In addition, given the development of new technologies,A second alternative would be to all the information that the networt keeps about us could be in danger if we do not use secure passwords that prevent criminals from using our accounts for illegal purposes.
In light of the above, I must conclude that both measures are indispensable to reduce the crime rate. However, I belive that given the unpredictability of most crimes, the protection of our homes and property would be the most effective plan. We must be aware that even if in developed countries like Spain the crime rate is not remarkable, we are never exempt.
