The sixties were marked, in the United States, by the beginning of a period of profound social changes. As far as women are concerned, these transformations have resulted in what is now known as the women's liberation movements.
As a rule of law, the United States saw the political commitment of women to laws that met the needs of the time and that influenced it, accelerating women's breakthrough in various institutions, both in employment and in business, serving for the first time. The question we are now asking is whether the evolution of the status of women has always been positive?
In other words, we are looking at whether the American woman of today has a better place in society than before. Indeed, the condition of women has improved a lot over the last few years, but nevertheless, this may not have been the case in all areas. It would be interesting to ask how much of a woman's evolution is positive. Indeed, the woman has always been considered inferior to man and one could imagine that she has not yet achieved a total respect for her sex.
We have seen, throughout this study, that the United States was not at the point of gender parity. Indeed, we found that the woman was able to impose herself in the political milieu. Despite the increase in the share of women in the labour force, their salaries remain much lower than that of men, yet with equal competence. Moreover, the United States reveals significant gaps in respect for women because violence is very present. Finally, the condition of the woman has evolved a lot but it is still to improve because violence remains a major problem. We studied of abundant images and a video, through these works we noticed a lot of cliché of the perfect family or the woman was at the center of these. Then we saw the women, in politics with many texts, the longer the time advances the more female are at the center of politics.
From a political point of view, only 10.9% of members of Parliament are women, and 5% are mayors or General Councilors. Moreover, it is important to remember that the French were granted the right to vote only in 1944. In addition, Norway is the country where parity is best respected. Indeed, 36.4% of the members of the Parliamentary Assembly are women.
In conclusion, we can see that the status of women in the United States is a bit like in Europe. Also in Europe the status of women is very different from country to country, but also we can find commonalities like, for example, society and the economy.
