Dealing with a conflict

Tell me about a time when you managed a conflict with a former employee, supervisor, or another student? Tell about a time when you have felt overwhelmed by a project or assignment? What would you identify as the biggest achievement of your « career »?

About the conflict, first, I would like to say that I have never dealt with conflict in my professional life. Second, I’m not in conflict with any student because I like the idea of being open minded and accommodate. So, for this homework, I guess I will just invent a story.

I think the conflict is generated through an amount of bad event, bad communications between employee or through unhappy customers.

I decided to choose the example of a conflict between a manager and a customer.

I have been working in the reception of the customers in a sport event. One day before the game, a wealthy spectator who was thinking he had the right to enter before anybody came to me to ask if he could go in. I had to say no to him, then he starts to complain about me, so I stayed polite and asking to wait for my manager because I can’t decide if he can go in before everybody. Then my manager came and told him that he could not go first, and he had to wait like everybody.

To deal with conflict I had a training with professional manager. It helps me a lot during this situation of conflict. At least it was easy to deal with.

I have felt overwhelmed a lot of time by a study project in my life.

Bacalauréat, dissertation, group project… but one time for my first dissertation, there was so much work to do. I did not know where to begin, it was hard to find a good subject. I remember that I choose a hard subject and there was a very little data and the data were in English. So, I had to translate all the data to use it in my dissertation.

That work leads me to my biggest achievement in scholarship, my dissertation about esport was my biggest achievement. it was tough work, I had to work late to accomplish this. I was very happy that it leads me to a very good grade.
