I would like to talk about my work experience.

I had my work experience at Korian les 3 Rives which is an home for old people in Gamaches.

It was one month long from November 5th to December 1st.

I went there by car , my parents drove me.

I worked from Monday to Friday, from 8 o’clock to 4 p.m.

I had a break at 10 o’clock of 15 minutes, and a break for lunch from 1 to 2 p.m.

I had to wear a uniform which consisted of a white tunique, pants and shoes. I wasn’t allowed to use my mobile phone , wear nail varnish and i had to have my hair tied.

I worked with nursing auxiliaries and nurses. All the staff were very friendly, I felt confident because I already knew them and it was not the first work experience I had there.

I used walking sticks, compression socks, wheelchairs, zimmers, and disposable gloves.

I helped a nursing auxiliary to set up the residents for breakfast, and then I served the trays. At about nine o'clock, I helped old persons with their shower then I made the beds. After that I had a break. After my break, I was preparing my care schedule. A little before noon, residents were taken to the restaurant, and I helped them to have lunch. At about one o'clock, I went on my lunch break. Then we had what we call with the nurse. Before I left and finished my day, I went back upstairs for the patients’tea time.

I didn’t meet any difficulties during my work experience.

My favorite moment is when we helped them with their shower because that’s where we’re really exchanging with the people.

My worst experience was when I had to leave them.

I liked my work experience because I like helping old persons. Thanks to my experience I know I would to become a nursing auxiliary. For that I would like prepare a test to integrate a nursing auxiliary formation. I recommend this place of work experience because the atmosphere was good, the staff was always ready to help.
