The impact of the technology on everyone's private life

From all over the world, information is so important for everyone to take decisions. Information becomes necessary for all entities. Companies, governments, organizations and others make information their raw material that they will eventually transform according to their needs. It turns to be a big fight because everyone wants more information to have greater control. The biggest victim will be the consumers and the people from whom these informations come from. Appiah’s article Cosmopolitanism: Ethic in a world of strangers shows that living in community is so important but the use of technology to create virtual communities instead of living in a community is one of the causes that contribute to the loss of everyone's private life. In Visible man, Singer demonstrates how technology can have a big impact in people’s life. Technology is really important but people have to use it for useful purposes because it has security implications. For a better world, people are willing to step back from their privacy rights in orders to facilitate the way they communicate with others adept to advancements in technology and its impact on the economy.

Communication is use to share information and link people together. Several ways are used to make communication more efficient and easier for a better result. Distance is no longer a problem for communication, nowadays a person can communicate with a friend or a family member thousand miles away. “The worldwide of information – radio, television, telephones, the internet – means not only that we can affect lives everywhere but that we can learn about life anywhere, too” (Appiah 45). In Appiah’s article of cosmopolitanism, it shows the importance of communication in everyone’s life. This connection that communication creates allows people to perfect themselves by learning from others. Nowadays, European can learn how to prepare African foods through YouTube and it is possible for a person in America to learn from a television documentary how Asians react to a natural disaster. In addition, many universities use the internet to offer courses to their students. Students can be at home and take classes in a foreign country. Communication through technology makes things more affordable and easier for everyone. Although there are many things that can be learned from using technology to communicate, it is very important to note that some types of communications result in the loss of privacy of some people. “We blog, tweet, and post what we are doing, thinking, and feeling we allow friends and contacts, and even strangers, to know where we are at any time” (Singer 31). People do not realize that they share their private life on the internet. On Twitter someone post “I had a great time with my girlfriend in Atlantic City this weekend’. This kind of publications that people share on the internet put their private life available to all. These informations have to remain secret with the person. Nobody needs to know where one has been during the weekend. Many people use communication very badly without realizing that they expose their private life to the general public. A lot of things must remain personal but with the intention to seek the attention of others sometimes people share private information. Also, everyone needs to pay more attention to the applications they use to communicate. After installing some applications on mobile phones or computers these applications ask people to access their private lives (access to contacts, messages or localization). Communication allows people to access other cultures and learn more. People can use the communication to enrich their knowledge when speaking with people of different cultures or with specialists in any field and strengthen their relationships with others, but people need to know how to use it. Using information in a bad way can have serious consequences on the safety of everyone. Much information must remain personal. People need to know what information to share and pay attention to the permissions that is given to applications on their devices.

In order to make life easier from day to day new instruments or tools are being invented and sometimes people are changing things already exists to make them more powerful and more useful. Technology is not stable; it evolves according to the needs. Due to the nature of these developments it is important to look at the impact of the technology on the human life. “Only in the past couple of centuries, as every human community has gradually been drawn into a single web of trade and a global network of information” (Appiah
