The Idea of Progress

I'm going to talk about the idea of progress. This notion can be defined as an improvement, a development or a change, scientific or social, an advance which would permit people to have better life condition. Social progress, scientific progress and economic development are usually considered as having a positive effect on our society however there are some cases where this change can have a negative effect too.

We can ask ourselves whether progress is always positive?

The new technologies of recent years have completely changed our way of life. If we take the example of the arrival of internet and access to computers and smartphones we can easily see that we no longer live in the same way. First of all our access in information is easier than before we can communicate anywhere in the world, share our opinions about different topics, but on the negative aspect many people have become addicted to social networks, and this can also create depression problems on young people. There are other types of technological progress that have a more positive impact like, robotics, means of transport, energy production ecological.

We can also talk about advanced medical, the scientific progress have a positive effect on our life for exemple the vaccines, we can save many people but some advances can also be negative like OGM in agriculture, it can pollute the environment.

To conclude the progess scientific and technologic don’t have necessarity positive effects but contribute to our comfort of life. (c’est nul mais c’est pour envoyer un document ptdrrr)
