Throughout the years, we have noticed the establishment of a gender inequality which is more and more talking about, notamently further inequality on the woman's side. In fact, there are disadvantages in the world, such as lower wages for women, and a more complicated integration rate for jobs, particularly in political life. Today, women fight more and more to lower this inequality and make it disappear.
For several decades, this fight has become more and more important with notamently the establishment of International Women's Day arrived in 1911 by Clara Zetkin and celebrate all the years. Thanks to their rallies and demonstrations, they made history by winning the right to vote in 1918 in England en in 1944 in France. This was possible through the creation of different groups of revolutionary women such as the Suffragettes, an organisation created in 1903 to claim the right to vote for women. They progressed slowly to get the right to vote and women at this moment were not considered to be « mentaly stable ». Emeline Pankhusrt was the leader of the Suffragettes and lead them to armed themselfs withs guns, to smash shop-windows and to bombs chained themselfs to the barriers. When they were imprisoned, they went on a hunger strike to continue their fight. After this long time, they finnaly win and succeed to gained the right to vote for women over 30 years old. They proved that if we fight for a cause, we would succeed in obtaining it even if we encounter difficulties.
Today, the difference in wages is still a problem that women are trying to erase. Indeed, a woman win 18% less than a man in England but the gap is decreasing over the years and was 23% in 2003, so progress has therefore been made.
Many inequalities and progress are to be noticed as did Hillary Clinton in her speech. On the one hand women gained rights in social, economic and political domains. On the other hand, they are majority of the world's poor, unhealthy, uneducated and unfed. Solutions are being found in some countries like the USA who are working to reduce this threat with some programs like help women in developing countries, in the education, the helth care, a battle climate charge and improving the food.
So women had to do many things to defend their rights, they have been able to observe an improvement in some areas but many points are still to be improved.
