Idea of Progress

        I’m going to speak about the notion idea of progress. First of all, I’m going to define this notion. The idea of progress can be defined as an improvement, a development or a change – a technical, scientific or social advance which contributes to making the world a better place. The transportation field has evolved dramatically from horse-carts to trains or planes. It is therefore easier, nowadays, to travel from a continent to another and to cover long distances for a gap year. A gap year is a popular experience among teens who take a break before starting college. As it is known for developing the gapper as a person, we may wonder to what extent a gap year may allow us to grow and develop ourselves. First of all, we’ll see the many benefits of such an experience then we’ll see that there may be some difficulties and downsides.

As a conclusion, we’ve seen the many pros of a gap year as well as the different negative aspects of such a project. A gap year allows the gapper to grow as a person as he may discover himself and become more open minded. However, one must be aware of the potential risks and difficulties one may face. Personally, I would love to go on a gap year as I think that it’ll help me become more responsible as a person. However, I wouldn’t take it right before college.
