Dear Madam
I would like to apply for the medical project that will take place in next february in Ghana.
My name is Mina Polette, I’m 17 and I have just graduated High School. I intend to be a doctor and I would like to have an experience in an hospital before my studies, to make sure that is my way. But I’m pretty sure it is.
As you’ll probably see I’m very interested in medicine and in helping people in need. I saw on your website that the job consists in taking care of people in medical placements, or working as a midwife assistant. Personally I would love to work as a surgeon assistant because I’m not afraid of blood and I would really like to know how our body works from the inside.
What I’m worried about is being the only teenager that is involved in this experience. I’m not a solo person at all and I’d really like to meet foreign people, especially children. I would like to become a pediatrician so I hope I would work with babies or children.
This gap year would be the opportunity for me to cross cultures, I’m a very openminded person and I would love to learn a new language or a new country habits. I have a lot of adaptation capacities and the hospital would be my new home for one year.
In fact, I always felt concerned about poor countries, world’s inequalities or human diseases, that’s why I wanted to volunteer, to be on equal footing with people in need and to help them. That’s a lifestyle, that’s the lifestyle I want to embrace. That would be rewarding and helpful for me and for other people too.I want to fight for a meaningful cause.
Thanks for all and I hope you will accept my application for this gap year. I would be most grateful if you could settle this matter.
Yours truly, Mina Polette
