SPACES AND EXANGES

Hello, we are going to study the notion of spaces and exchanges. First of all, I am going to give the definition of the notion which is a wide concept. All the societies are somehow defined by the geographical and symbolic spaces which they occupy and how they open these spaces. The notion can include an exchange in the context of the leisure or the work. For this study on spaces and the exchanges we are going to lean on these young people who leave gap years there.

So, why leave gap years there? We go even the advantages to leave gap years there then the inconveniences and the risks of such a journey.

A gap year is a period of time during which a student takes a break from studying after they have finished school and before they start college or university. During this year, the young people make of internships, work or do voluntary work.

1-advandages :

Leave gap year there allows to improve these skills in language. We saw a video where four young people, of return of travel explain us their experience and their different project of gap years. This video takes place in Scotland. They explain us that it made them more responsible. It allows to discover new cultures, new lifestyles and to make new things.

Of return in his country, to have left gap years there is beneficial to find an job. The young people have excellent skills in languages. Leave can change a live.

2-desavantages :

The idea to leave gap year there is little spread in France and is still too badly seen. French tend to build themselves via their diploma. It is true that in certain cases, gap years can seem useless. We studied a document of statistics where we learnt that for 60 % of gappers, their experience was not enriching. Furthermore, leave entails risks as to fall ill, not to support the estrangement with his  close friends  … But also, when the moment to turn to study comes, certain young people are victims of early school leaving and do not manage to resume work. To finish, we can also evoke the cost of this journey. All the young people cannot leave because it asks for a too big budget.

To conclude, I think gap year is a good experience which allows the young people of future of the adults in spite of some not insignificant inconveniences.
