Organic pollution

Farmers, individuals and industrialists discharge organic matter (excreta, animal or vegetable household waste for private individuals, livestock waste for livestock, vegetable or animal waste for industries such as paper, tannery or agro-food industries).

Chemical Pollution

Agriculture (crop and livestock) is a major cause of groundwater pollution, and important for surface water.

Individuals, traders and artisans (wastewater managed by the cities) are also responsible for water pollution. Waste discharged into the sea

It is estimated that every second not far from 100 waste end up in the seas and oceans, or 8 million litter of waste dumped into ocean waters every day and nearly 3 billion every year. About 5 million (63%) of discarded items are solid waste, dropped or thrown from boats.
The danger also comes from the sky too, because 200,000 tons of hydrocarbons scattered in the air fall into the ocean with rain.
To this must be added the hundred or so ships wrecked and sinked to the bottom of the sea every year, and of which we never speak. Their cargoes also end up escaping and polluting the marine water.
