        Stress in the workplace is becoming a growing issue in the world, people are expacted to work like machines and it is affecting their health. It can affect your productivity and performance and therefore put your job at risk. But is work related stress a management issue ?

        Stress in the workplace can often start with changes within the organisation of your work or a change in your routine stress could also be caused by bad relationships with collegues or miscommunication with bosses. Sometimes the job content and demands can become too much to handle and causes distress.

        Work related stress can affect a person physically, psycologically and emotionally. One could suffer from muscular tensions or even in certain cases gastronomical upset such as diarrhoea or constipation. Psycological symptoms include discouragement and a reduced ability to concentrate which could eventually lead to depression. Stress can very often effect people's emotions, some people loose creativity and initiative and in many cases people become agressive.

        Many people feel that stress is natural in the workplace but this can be avorded by , for example, thinking about the changes necessary to reduce stress levels and then take action. Being well organised can also reduce stress in the workplace.

        To resume, a company should take measures so that their employees are not subjected to unnecessary stress, they could do this by discussing issues and complaints with employees and then taking appropriate action when neccessary.
