First draft for Compare and Contrast Essay

According to a 2016 study of the National Institute of Studies in Ivory Coast, 62% of the Ivorian population would have preferred to stay in childhood. Personally when I was small, life was fun but still I wanted to become an adult. I was fascinated by what adults were able to do and accomplish. I was fascinated by driving cars or by spending money to buy what you want. For me being adult meant being free. I also appreciate the fact of sleeping a lot as a child and be able to play with friends. When comparing the responsibilities like paying the bills or taking care of his family, freedom of movement, the knowledge and the skills such as cooking or repairing object, we notice that Adulthood is a better state of growth than Childhood.

There are many differences between Adult and child first is that they do not have the same level of independence. Adult are free of their movements and can move where they want. In fact, as they are financially independent adults who have enough money can decide to travel to rest after a hard period of work. They are able to plan this vacation and can even decide the end of his stay. For example, we noticed that people like changes and move in others countries to discover new cultures. An adult can choose to move to another home as he wishes if he realizes that he wants changes or if his house does not please him. Furthermore, adults can decide what they want to consume as food. In fact, an adult can decide on his diet. If he has chosen to be a vegetarian, for example, no one can force him to change or consume food contrary to his diet such as meat. In addition, adults are not forced to eat the same food every day, indeed it can vary and even choose to discover new recipes that will please him. Adults have freedom to choose which career they want to pursuit. Also a child can even heal from an illness according to a doctor's prescription. Indeed if this one knows which drugs to consume and which dose to apply, he will have no problem to heal on his own. In contrast, children are dependent on their parents and cannot do what they want. Finally, Adults and children are both able to choose which career they want to pursuit. However, adults have a more precise idea because they have more experience and most children do not know what they will do when they will be adult. In contrast, children are dependent on their parents and cannot move on their own and are dependent on their parents. Children, for security reasons, are supervised by their parents because they are considered more vulnerable and therefore more likely to be exposed to danger. When we take example of babies, these are protected by the bars of the cradles so that they do not hurt themselves and that they are safe. Therefore, we can say that babies cannot move as they see fit. In addition, children cannot walk in the street without being supervised by a person because for the toddlers, it is a danger. They do not even know what they do for the most part and do not have the same sense of danger as adults. Also, children are not able to feed themselves. As these are still small, they do not have, for the most part, an aptitude for cooking. For this, their parents cook their food. In addition to this, children cannot always decide what they want to eat because some parents believe that some dishes are too rich in cholesterol or other foods that can harm the growth of children then for some families parents decide to vary between items essential for the growth of the child such as milk, salads and foods that children enjoy as fried potatoes for example. Finally, children cannot support themselves. They cannot pay for their studies or buy items that will please them like toys for the little ones and cell phones for the big ones for example When we compare the freedom, Adults are more independent than Children.

Secondly, adults have greater pressure than children. Children don’t have duty or obligation; they go to school or stay at home. Indeed, the greatest responsibility of children is to succeed at school. Otherwise, they have no real obligations. They go to school and then come back and finally do their exercises for school. These are, in a nutshell, the real responsibility of children: to go to school. Apart from that, they spend their time watching television, going to their friends, listening to music or playing video games; they are just there to be taken care. In addition, the children learn from day to day the responsibilities to which they will be confronted. Then we could say that childhood is learning for adult life. In contrast, Adulthood have more responsibilities. First, they have to pay bills, rent, and the studies of their children. They have to make huge personal sacrifices to support their family such as items his wife or her husband need or the games his/her children have asked to buy. Also, sometimes adults have to submit documents to their boss and this kind of work puts a lot of pressure on them. This is known as the professional world. Finally, adults, when they are father, are responsible of the education of their children and have to be an example this can be considered a form of pressure because all parents would like his children to be a man or a woman just in respect of the law and all persons he/she encounters. «To be an adult or to be a child is not a question of age but a question of attitude». This sentence from Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov shows that the characteristics that differ adult from children is behavior and can be seen as maturity. Because Adult are mature, they can take decisions that children can’t.  Adults have more responsibilities than children because their lives are more loaded or busy
