The lewis and Clark Expedition
1.How long did the expedition last ?
→ it lasted 3 years (from 1804-1806)
2. When did the expedition start ?
→ it started on May 14th, 1804.
3. When did it finish ?
→ They started the journey back on March 23rd, 1806.
4. What were the objectives of the expedition ?
→ They wanted to discover the west of the US, map the new territory, assess its natural resources, and make contact with its inhabitants, befriending them if possible.
5. Who lead the expedition ?
→ Lewis and Clark were the leaders.
6. Where did the expedition take place ?
→ In the western part of the current US
7. What difficulties did they face ?
→ they were attacked by animals, the cold weather, issues navigating the boats, huge clouds of mosquitoes…
8. What animals did they meet ?
→ they met wolves, grizzly bears, buffaloes.
9. Why are Lawis and Clark heroes ?
→ because they succeeded in mapping all of the US

→ It was the Mississippi river.

→ They met Indian tribes, for example the Shoshones

→ It was Sacagawea, the wife of Toussaint Charbonneau (a french fur trader), and sister of an Indian Chief.

→ It was president Jefferson

→ The Lakota tribe.

→ Only one man died, of a ruptured appendix !

→ - the people, the land, the rivers, the mountains, the plants and animals.

→ The Louisianna Territory
