The caste system in India was legally abolished in 1950 but, it still lingers in a hard way especially for women. Being a regular working-class educated woman living an independent life is a feat! that is so ironic from our society where metropolitan liberals are more likely to embrace #metoo or LBGT causes than get involved in repairing 3 millennials of discrimination and injustice against Dalits.

The fact is there is no escaping. you are a Dalit, you are untouchable, you are ostracized, ridiculed, and harassed. “Because your life is your caste, your caste is your life.” as said Sujatha Gilda a Dalit. end of caste apartheid is not achieved today. Dalit people do not master their own fate and condition. Dalits are the lower caste so leading the normal life of a Savana is exceptional. Its emphasis how dire their situation is. Elite is against the notion of Dalits. They are perceived as a subcategory of citizen with no equal treatment, modern urban India does not give an equal shot at success. Dalit community is victims of physical violence but there are fighting back by demonstrations and starts to have the help of the entire world. that’s not enough!
