1. **How has the evolution of media aided in the polarization of the US?**

The evolution of media, particularly the rise of non-traditional sources such as alternative journalism, bloggers, vloggers, and social media, has contributed to the polarization of the US by creating distinct echo chambers that cater to specific political ideologies. Various media outlets have targeted specific audiences with particular political views, leading to competing narratives and widening the gap between the left and right. The emergence of far-right 24-hour news channels, which have positioned themselves as alternatives to what they claim is a left-wing bias in mainstream media, has further entrenched this division.

2. **What is the positive and/or negative outcome of the 24-hour news cycle?**

The 24-hour news cycle has a mix of positive and negative outcomes. On the positive side, it provides constant access to news, allowing people to be informed in real-time about events as they happen. However, this urgency to fill 24 hours with content has also led to negative effects, such as lower-quality reporting, sensationalism, and a decline in journalistic standards. The drive for viewership can cause news outlets to prioritize entertainment value over factual reporting, further contributing to the spread of misinformation and the polarization of society.

3. **Review and comment on the graph and screenshot below bearing in mind polarization.**

As there is no graph or screenshot provided in the prompt, I cannot directly comment on it. However, any graph or data related to media consumption preferences, particularly among different age groups or political affiliations, would likely reflect the trends of polarization described in the text. For instance, if the graph shows younger audiences preferring social media platforms for news, it may illustrate a shift towards less traditional sources of information that foster individualized echo chambers. Additionally, if the data indicates a growing divergence in news source preferences between political parties or demographics, it would further highlight the increasing fragmentation and polarization within the media landscape.

Or when people didn’t know the source, they say that it’s not really biased. Well Bernard Goldberg criticism that people who just care about the source and not paying attention if they agree. When we know that the source is liberal or conservative, we immediately think that the content is biased on the same side that the journalist.

People want to recieve biase news and not neutral. In the other side is a problem, but if their supporting ideologie it’s okay

3) What is the autor’s opinion of journalists as a whole ?

The authors think that journalists do that on purpose when they divulging biased news. Of course we need a free press, freedom to express oneself, that is Démocratie. But here Goldberg suspect journalists not to understand the problem if anyone trust in the media. Indeed, the population who think that every media is biased won’t trust journalists anymore.
