INTRODUCTION
JIT, is an acronym of Just-in-time. This latter is one of many terms associated with modern vision of management industry, which aims to eliminate systematically all waste (activities non value added) and look in continuous manner the productivity and the quality improvement.
JUST-IN-TIME
The ASPICS, the Educational Society for Resource Management, give the following definition, the JIT is based on the elimination systematical of wastes and on the improvement continuously of the productivity. This concept focus on operation with non-added value. The waste is generally:
- The stock and the stock in progress
- The waiting time
- The element in the transport
- The control of the operation
- The overproduction
- Etc…
METHODS AND TECHNIQUES
The JIT uses different techniques and methods, as show the following pictures, in order to eliminate the wastage.
- Production flow from Kanban method, reduction of cycle time, the stocks and stock in progress.
- SPC, AMDEC, implementation of quality assurance, reduce the need to control products.
- SMED to reduce changeover time serial and batch size limit overproduction.
- Implementation in autonomous reduce transport parts.
The systematic elimination of waste cannot be obtained by the merely reorganization of the production process. This must be led by small steps, and in continuous manner, permanent by all stakeholders of the company. Kaizen is a state of mind, an attitude of actors in company, which lead to improved continuously their process, by researching and eliminating all source of wastage.
