Introduction:

I’m going to present “Get out”. It’s a comedy, thriller and horror movie written by Jordan Peele and produced by Jason Blum in 2017. To create this film, it required only 4.5 million dollars which is really cheap when you know that most of the American film need to be produce around 100 million dollars. However, the low budget does not affect the quality of the movie and that is maybe due to the experience of Jason Blum who is an expert in the production of horror movies with a low budget.

Before I do a synopsis, you need to know that the movie has been made in the united state when Barack Obama was president and shoted in cinemas when Donald Trump became president.

Synopsis:

I really don’t want to give you the key elements of this movie because it’s thriller, a film with enigmas so if I give the answers the movie loses a lot of its interest. So briefly (shortly) this movie is about Chris Washington, a young black photographer who has been sharing the life of Rose Armitage for several months. He agrees to spend a weekend with Rose's parents to meet his in-laws. While he is worried about the reactions that his skin color could arouse. But He is greeted very warmly by Dean and Missy Armitage. At the begin the atmosphere is very pleasant, even joyful far from being creepy or gross. But more we advance in story and more the atmosphere becomes tense, strange and disturbing. And as the title announce it Chris will need to find a way to “Get Out” of his in-law’s houses which is really weird.

Impressions:

What I like with this movie it’s that it is far from being a two-dimensional film. It has a real message and Jordan Peele decided to use the genre of the horror film to convey this message. In an interview on the channel France 24 he says that “when Barack Obama was president he had the impression that everyone in United States didn’t want to talk about race anymore as if people were thinking: “We have a black president so racism does not exist anymore. That’s how the word Post-Race system appeared whereas for Jordan Peele it was a lie. So, in his movie he wanted to show that even if things can seem pleasant a monster can hide in the shadow.

I need to know who often go to the cinema to watch Horror film?

I think that if you want to start and watch horror films “Get out” is a really good way to begin because it is not this kind of movies that when you watch you are terrified for two hours non-stop and screaming at the smallest thing at happens. No, I’m sure you won’t get out of the room when seeing it because it atmosphere changes. It is sometimes funny, sometimes scaring so you can take breaks and recover from your emotions.
