Firstly, the name of Las Vegas, which means "The Prairies" or "The Fertile Valleys"(va-leez), was given to it by the Spanish because of the water present in the basements. Millions of tourists travel to Las Vegas each year to relax, experience local cook, see shows, enjoy the nightlife and, of course, try their luck at the casino. Located in a valley on the borders of California, Arizona and Utah, Las Vegas is surrounded( suh-round-duhd) by snow-cappt mountains in winter. what can you do in Las Vegas? You can do many things. For exemple:

1. assist a show or a musical show
2. admire (uhd-mai-uh) the magni ficent view of the Stratosphere Tower
3. You must go to the Bellagio for seeing a totally breathtaking sound and light show and the Bellagio Fountains. The last thing to do in Las Vegas is to visit all the beautiful and luxurious hotels and all their casinos.
