Culture and brands
Culture :
The culture is things or icons of a civilisation or a countrie that are known by the whole world. It can be stereotypes but most of the times, the civilisation’s culture is art, famous people, famous places, historical events, food etc.
Depending on the civilisation, the culture will change. For exemple, it can change for the religion, the traditional dishes, the way they close, the music they listen to etc…
But in contrary to it, there’s some similarities between de different civilisations. Some religion, the style of the architecture, the life style or the political system are sometimes the same.
Brands :
The brands have big influence on the globalization. They are rich, and need to produce more and more. They are usually known by a lot of people. They export their suffs all around the world and that is part of the globalization. And because they are rich, they feed the globalizations industries.
But the big brands usually have terrible conditions. Because of their popularity, they need to produce much in the less time possible. So they don’t think about what the workers think or need or want. They just want them to produce more and more.
This picture is a drawing that represent a factory, that may be in China. The brand the workers work for is Nike. The workers look tired and exhausted, probably because they did shooes all day. They have little paper on their mouth.
The paper is here to represent the fact that they don’t have to say anything but just focus on their work. Their face are like that because the have to work with really bad conditions, all day, they have to « just do it ».
I think that, even if there’s the nike’s logo on the picture, this is a way to criticize all the big brands like nike. They forced their workers to work all day just to produce more in the less time possible, sot they can make more money. The reason for that is simple :
« Time is money » -Benjamin Franklin.
So the link is that globalization need the big brands like nike or apple to work and to feed it. The problem is that brands also feed their countrie, so they also feed their culture. Can we say that international brands are part of the culture of a countrie ? The only thing we can say is that it depends on your point of vue.
