English review: The Perfect Date

Before the holidays, we had the chance to watch the brand new Netflix romantic comedy the Perfect Date. Briefly, it is retracing the story of Brooks Rattigan who’s objectives are simple. Going to Yale and go out with the prettiest girl we has ever seen : Shelby. When he hears that one of his acquaintance often escort his cousin during night outs he thinks that he has found the perfect idea: being paid to escort girls everywhere. This time, Reece can not escort his cousin so Brooks does it and follow Celia Lieberman to a party

Therefore, he asks his best friend to launch a software where every girl in need of his services could send an alert that he could accept or deny. It is a real success and he escorts numerous girls during the months. Each time, he dresses up and represent a character: a cow-boy, a perfect dancer or a terrible fake boyfriend. During all those dates, he still follows Celia and explain her that he wants to seduce Shelby. He manages to make it but their romantic dinner is a disaster. 
Finally, he realizes that he love Celia and reveals his love for her trough an application form.

All’s well that ends well !

More that only a romantic comedy, this film teaches us that no matters what you try to do with yourself, changing your personality or dressing up as somebody else, you just cannot stop its true colors from shining through!

It also teaches us that sometimes when you are obsessed with a career, here going to Yale, it is not obviously the perfect thing for you and you will understand it sooner or later!
