Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing with regards to the Economics’ department in the Faculty of Arts.
Since my childhood, I have been fascinated by money. I have seen people use it, people save it. I have seen people rise thanks to it and people get destroyed by it. Though I’ve seen few who’ve wondered: “Where did this money come from?” And I am one of those. Through my high school studies, I’ve learned so much about it and yet, I wish to dig even further and discover even more about the economic systems.
I believe that I meet all of your requirements to enroll in this course. I’ve studies Economics and Social Sciences (Filière ES in the French Baccalaureate) during high school and am currently aiming at passing with an average of 16 out of 20 (80%). Plus, having a passion for languages and music, I’ve invested a lot of time in those too. I am a violinist (I passed my Associate Boards of the Royal Schools of Music of England (ABRSM) Grade 8 exam when I was only fourteen) and I have reached levels of proficiency in four languages excluding French and English (they are: Spanish, German, Arabic and Hindi), which may be useful to acquire extra credits and to benefit from your wide range of courses.
Having studied in the French curriculum for more than fifteen years, I have interiorized their ethics: commitment, hard work, perseverance, and perfection. Furthermore, the French system teaches its students since the youngest age to use language as an art, as a tool for debate and has taught its alumni how to develop their own writing styles, through essays and dissertations (all of that whilst maintaining sturdy contact with French (and European) culture, literature and philosophy) which are mastered by the end of the thirteen year program. Apart from that, growing up in the UAE has taught me about living in the most diverse of communities, where people have not only different socio-economic backgrounds but also different cultural backgrounds
Since I took the tour of your University Campus last year, I knew that it was within these walls that I wanted to build my future. Having spoken to numerous people who’ve studied and to a few who’ve taught there, I’ve understood that your University aims to deliver excellent results while maintaining modern values, lifestyle, and education in contemporary infrastructures.
I would be more than happy to provide further explanation of my interests in my studies and my future professional projects, or to submit any scores or transcripts that you may require. I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours Sincerely
...
