Personality test
1/ I rather agree with the result even if I am quite skeptical with the tests of this style. I think, for example, that you can be introverted in the family and extroverted at work. In general the answers can change a lot for a single person depending on the context, his mood etc ... so not very precise.
2/ My personality is "commander". In an unethical situation, my strengths would be: my confidence, my authority, my decision-making, my ability to negotiate, efficiency and perseverance. But too much rationality can mislead me.
Exercise n°2
What could be the right thing to do in this situation from an ethical point of view ?
The right thing to do in this situation is to follow the instructions given by the manager. For the simple reason that it is impossible to get into a company, and start changing everything just because you think it's better that way. If things are done this way, there is a reason, and time will usually allow one to discover those reasons and whether there is the possibility of changing them.
If you were the civil engineer, what would you actually do ?
If I would be new in the company, I would follow the instructions.
But with experience in the company and seniority, I will utilize my own staff rather than contractors, to be able to supervise the work better and ensure the right quality.
Is your response to this question different to your response to question 1? If so, why ?
I put two solutions so it’s difficult to answer.
But the first response corresponds to the situation of the first question, and in this case, no, the response is not different.
What are the factors that influenced your decision/Action? How is it linked to the way you value things, as identified earlier?
The factor that influenced me the most is the anciennety in the company. This shows that I attach importance to time and ancestry.
According to you, what values were involved in recognizing that these were ethical choices?
The most recognisable value is justice.
