in the United States, test scores allow students to enter different universities. the higher the score, the more prestigious the university. William Singer has done a lot of work to solve the problems of admission to the United States, especially to Yale and Stanford University. In order to get students who don’t have the necessary qualities into a prestigious university William has used several methods. First of all, during the exams, he gave false scores to the students in order to make them go up in the ranking. Secondly, it is possible for a student with a particular CV, such as a sports scholarship or parental salary, to be given priority over other students. So, William has helped students get into yale or Stanford by modifying their resumes and athletic backgrounds Finally, the last way he found was simply to bribe the admission officers by giving them a certain amount of money so that they would be laxer on the files of certain students.
Now, having seen the various ways in which the American higher education admission system has been corrupted, the second part concerns the consequences of this situation
SECOND
first of all there is already a lot of social inequality in the United States. Due to the large differences in wages, many families find themselves disadvantaged compared to others who have the advantage. but as there is corruption in the system, inequalities are created even within the school. some students who do not have the necessary skills still manage to enter the higher level. thus, differences in standards are created between those who have managed by themselves with their work and those who only needed money to be admitted. moreover, it is remarkable that there are twice as many students from wealthy families in yale or Stanford as there are students who have been admitted because of their abilities. Some people are supported from childhood by their parents' income and have easy access to higher education due to corruption, while others have to work from childhood to be able to earn a living, which creates injustice in society.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, this article shows that corruption is prevalent in the higher education system in the United States in order to compensate for the difficulties encountered, thus creating social and economic inequalities within the country.
