THE GREEN MILE
Firstly the green line is a film from a novel directed by Frank Darabont.
Franck Darabont is an American director born January 28, 1958 in a refugee camp in Montbéliard.
He went to high school in Hollywood and entered the cinema as a production assistant and studio decorator.Despite his seven Oscar nominations, Frank did not receive a Nobel Prize.
In 1983, he began his career as a director with a short film entitled "The Woman in the Room", which was a great success.
In 1994 Frank collaborates with Kenneth Branagh for the writing of Frankenstein, very famous too.
In 1999 the adapter is in his third adaptation of Stephen King "THE GREEN MILE", which is nominated 4 times at the Oscars.
The green mile was released in 1999 and was released in France was at least 12 years old.
The main actors in this 189-minute adaptation were Tom Hanks, David Morse, Michael Clarke and Duncan. The film was shot in a prison of 1935 where Paul Edgecombe was head warden of the penitentiary whose prisoners were sentenced to the electric chair. One day a new prisoner arrives, it is John Coffey a giant condemned for the rape and the murders of two little girls. However the facts are disturbing because it is a contrast with its softness and its natural kindness. John is endowed with supernatural powers indeed all along film we see that he "sucks" the pain and suffering of others.
The press in general made ecxellente critics on this adaptation.
For example, Le Parisien describes the story as "touching and painful having a quality interpretation".
I am totally accods especially that even if the film lasts 189 minutes and takes place in a penitentiary at no time I was bored or distracted from the story.
I chose this film and this scene especially because I was shocked and moved by this tragic end. Expression of the character seemed sad and necessary at the same time, throughout the film we see John suffer from the incomprehension and the relentlessness of the world around him.
I found it very unfortunate that the people who witnessed his death had a great deal of hate for him because he did not know the real story. I really enjoyed this movie.
