The course of Forrest, a lightning evolution across all facets of the United States

The movie begins with a solitary feather floating through the sky until a man sitting at a bus stop happens to catch it. He then grabs the feather and tucks it away. After that, forest will tell us about his course.

The course of Forrest Gump begins when he was child and he is with the doctor in this office getting a new pair of “shoes.” A pair of leg braces designed to straighten his back. He’s not a normal child, a little slow in the head, his mother refuses to let that stand in his way and gets him into the Alabama public school system. It is on the Bus on his first day of school where he meets “Jenny” who quickly becomes his best friend and they stick together like “peas and carrots”. One day he has an unexpected encounter with Elvis Presley, inspiring the singer’s famous dance due to his orthodicts that prevent him from walking properly.

While escaping other boys who bully him, Forrest realizes he's very fast, which earns him a scholarship to the University of Alabama, despite his deficient IQ, and becomes a successful running back, to the point of shaking hands with President JFK. After that, with his diploma in his pocket, Forrest joined the Marines, heading for Vietnam.

He saved the life of Lieutenant Dan Taylor, which earned him a medal of honor .His experience in Vietnam shapes him for the rest of his life. He also meets his “Best Good Friend” Benjamin Buford Blue, or Bubba.

Upon his return, he discovered his talent for ping-pong leading him to China where he challenges the masters during diplomatic meetings.

When he returns from China, he’s swept up by a group of “Hippies” who came out to protest the war in Washington DC. Here, he is reunited with Jenny who becomes a Hippie. With the money raised through the making of ping pong rackets, he launched a shrimp business, honoring the promise he made to his friend Bubba earlier in the movie.

Lieutenant Dan also fulfills his promise to join Forest in his business. Both employees take advantage of Hurricane Carmen to crush the competition and make a fortune. Dan reinvests their profits in a computer company named Apple. Forrest has no more worries (money) to make.

In the late '70s, Jenny returns to live with Forrest. After a furtive adventure, she leaves him and breaks his heart. Forrest decides to start running without stopping. He travels the country and becomes a kind of guru for many and then comes home. He sees his Mother again and she is overjoyed by the success of her son. Forrest is then reunited with Jenny. She tells him that he has a son and they decide to pack up and move together to his house and Jenny proposes to him.

The movie ends with Forrest sending little Forrest off to his first day of school. They open a book and the feather reappears and begins to float its way back up to the heavens.
