Who are they ?
On 22nd of June , in 1948, a boat , named “empire windrush”, came to London.
He transported 492 Jamaicains , came here to work.
Indeed , it’s the end of the second world war and the united kingdom was destroyed.
The UK needed people to work and rebuild this country.
They appealed to the Jamaicans and promised them a new and better life
They have been came here with a lot of hopes
Five hundred thousand workers came in Britain between 1948 and 1973
It's this workers who have been calling Windrush generation in reference to the boat
They had been promised a better life and arrived there they suffered discrimination
They all arrived on British soil with the right to legally reside if one of the parents had an official document
50,000 people are at risk of deportation due to stronger migration policy on the part of theresa may
Indeed , with this new migration policy , the windrush generation need officials papers to prove their right of residence
But , they don’t have it because their parents are dead .
So , a lot of them have been losting their jobs and can’t have access to the medical service
