Wayne Rooney was left out by England for the World Cup qualifier in Slovenia. He has been one of the most significant British footballer since he started playing, at 16years old. Could this be the end of Rooney era?

It was Gareth southgate, the interim manager, who took the decision to drop out Rooney of the match. However he said that it was a difficult decision to take because of all the respect he has for him. Rooney is very respected in the english team not just as a player but as a leader.

Rooney has always been loyal to his club and has given a lot to it. He has been playing for MU for 13 years straight. Let's not forget that he is England's record scorer with 53 goals in 117 appearances.

Times are hard for Rooney because he suffered a smiliar fate at United less than a month before. Even after all that Rooney stays very humble about it and he even said that there was "no embarrassment in being on the bench". He also admitted that his game wasn't as good as it was before but "that's just how football works".

Rooney planed to retire after the World Cup 2018 taking place in Russia.

To conclude I'll say that Rooney was an excellent player and an icon for British people. Even if Rooney is down nowadays he a ccomplished a lot of great things in the past. I don't think he deserves to be left out like this I find it very unfair but as he said "it's how football works
