My internship has been performed with joy and good humour due to the support of many people.

Thus, I take this opportunity to express my profound gratitude and deep regards to Mrs Davenport, my internship teacher, for answering to all my questions regarding my placement.

INTRODUCTION

The following report presents my activities executed during an internship of six weeks at the company CAROLL. My internship program is an educational requirement from the University of Sorbonne Nouvelle in order to obtain my degree in Foreign Languages. I have to search an internship related to my studies which means the languages either English or Spanish. I finally choose to do my internship as a salesperson in Caroll which is located in Paris, at Opéra in a very tourist district and using english as the main language.

The reason why I chose to follow an internship in the sales sector was mostly because I have been really attracted by the world of Fashion since I was a child. In other words I am a real Fashionista. I thought begin as a salesperson would be a a good start in the area of Fashion and would provide me a good overview of the profession.

I remembered having many questions in mind before starting my training period such as :

Considering that, my Internship is implemented in Paris, Am I going to use english fluently ?

Am I going to be well integrated within the team ?

What will be the tasks, they will ask me to do ?

Am I going to appreciate my internship ?

The report is divided into two parts : in the first part, I present an overview of the company and then I detail my internship through my objectives and missions.

1 I ) OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY

A) STATUTE

CAROLL is a clothing shop which targeting women over 30 and mainly working women and urban women. The brand is particularly appreciated for the quality of its products, its textile, its cuts, its competencies and its Fashion style. There are 312 point of sales in FRANCE, all implemented in the town centre or in shopping centre. Indeed, the brand is also expanded in foreign countries (Spain, Switzerland, Belgium, Great Britain Germany and Japan).

B) HISTORICAL

The brand was founded in 1963 by two designers : Raphael Levy and Joseph Bigio. They created the brand « Les tricots Caroll » and provided a first collection composed mainly of fluid and comfortable knitwear.

The store adapted itself gradually to the needs of working women and proposed a stylish and dynamic collection. Although the Fashion changed and women evolved, Caroll adapted itself, keeping in mind its objective : provide chic and casual looks and keeping the elegance as the motto of the brand.

In the 90s, Caroll met a huge success in the country and continued its expansion in foreign countries. Thanks to this success, the Company created a collection of accessories. Now, customers can be dressed from the head to toe by Caroll. In 1994, the Company launched a new brand called « Caroll Paris » declaring its real expansion in foreign countries.
