1/ Queen Elizabeth II spoke to the British during a televised intervention from Windsor Castle on                  Sunday, April 5, about the Covid-19 pandemic.    

 

 2/ She describes that  life-changing time for everyone.

3/ The Queen thanks all those in the NHS and the social workers because it is them who carry on their daily work away from home to support us and she thanks all Britons who stay at home.

4/ According to her, we will be able to defeat the virus all together.

5/ She hopes that everyone can be proud of the way they have risen to this challenge. The hallmark of Great Britain is benevolent determination and camaraderie.

Partie 2

1/ People help each other by delivering food parcels, watching their neighbors.

2/ The period does remind her at the separation of families because the children were isolated for their safety.

3/This challenge is different because Britain joins all the nations of the world.

C/ Yes, I think that the speech of the leaders is very important because they give us hope and they relieve us in this increasingly difficult time. It is their duty to calm down their country because if they do not, people would be panicked and lost. That is why they must guide us even in difficult times. People need to be safe and want answers to their questions, they need trust between themselves and the leader.
