L.V.A

So today for the 18th film festival On the Road Again who will start in March two thousand sixteen we have to introduce a dozen of movies. We are here to propose one by person. So mine is Wild directed by Jean-Marc Vallée.

In June 1995, despite a complete lack of hiking experience, a recently divorced Cheryl Strayed leaves Minneapolis, Minnesota, to hike one thousen hundred miles of the two thousen six hundred fifty miles Pacific Crest Trail on a journey of self-discovery and healing. During the hike, Strayed reflects in flashbacks on her childhood in Minnesota and memories of her mother, Bobbi Grey (Laura Dern), whose death had pushed her toward self-destructive behaviour that led to her divorce.

So, personnaly I really think that its a movie which have to figure in the list because first of all he's called Wild which significated that even if we haven't saw the movie we can already imagine that its about nature, about travel and its definitly a movie who have to figure in this festival.

Because this movie is not like anyone movie. He is particular, he's special, and really specific because this movie is inspired by a true story so its maybe hem, something we already saw like into the wild but its really atypicall. It change at first because its a women who travel and who is the main character.

Beyond a banal promenade in wonderful wild decors, Wild is especially, for his character of Cheryl very at least, a true and poetic pilgrimage . She wanted an other way to say goodbye to her mother than by sinking into the drugs and sex. This young woman, represented by Reese Witherspoon entirely invested in the reason of his character, leaves to make a long walking of several thousand kilometres across the United States.

The suffering which she feels is perfectly expressed by bruises filmed in most near, but the courage which scoops out the heroine from her painful memories (where appears, in the role of this regretted mother, always very fair and radiant Laura Dern) are the source not only of a fluid assemblage and regulated by a splendid original band but especially of an unstoppable emotional power which is of use as vector for this road-trip introspective very pretty.

So, in this movie we can clearly saw that it's a women who is the main character. It's important for me because its a movie where a girl travel in really bad condition : a tent, only a couple bag of cereals and a huge and massive bag on her back and she can handle it, with a lot of difficulties but this movie shows that not only man can travel alone, in the wild.

We don't have to be strong, or tall, or a man. This woman interpred by Reese Witherspoon is thin, small and with an appearance of low person.

But we see that appearances are deceptive because, besides the fact that she's an junkie and a sort of nymphomaniac she pass trought out everything happend to her, she has succeeds to change life to get better.

Its a movie who show the stronger of the woman and it's clearly important to show it for to avoid believing that there is only a man who can make this kind of adventure.
