Introduction :

I’m going to talk about the notion Myths and Heroes. To begin with, I’d Like to give a definition of myths, and next, the definition of heroes. A myth can be defined as a story about gods or heroes, it can be popular belif, or a notion on which the people believe. A hero can be a mythological figure, a person who is admired for his or her archievements, a superhero or a model, an icon. So, we can wonder in what certain personalities can be characterize as hero ? To answer this question, we will see as a first step, the story of the Rock N Roll in Britain’s, then we will see as a second time, determined women during the Dagenham strike. Next, we shall finish by a conclusion.

To begin, at the dawn of the (au debut ils en ecoutaient pas, mais pas durant tout les sixties) 60’s, Britain’s people did not listen Rock N’ Roll music whith knew the revolution in the USA. The Britain’s people dit not listen the Rock N’ Roll music, because the Britain forbid any commercial radio station in the country. The BBC broadcast only new information, or children’s program. One day, a group of rebellious who wanted to hear RNR music decide to take a boat to broadcast music as the Rolling Stone in the international water, because de British State can’t forbid this boat. In 1664, the Caroline Radio is create, who was the first radio pirates offshore. As a result, the British State decides to forbid the stock of supply of this boat. And, one month later, the BBC launched his first pop-station. It will have taken more than 6 years that the G-B authorizes the commercial station. The radio pirates, with the Radio Caroline created for these pirates, have allowed to delete the monopoly of radios, and have allowed to authorize the freedom of listening of every individuals and to bring in the country, the culture of RNR.

Others personality than the pirates radios can be characterized as a hero. In fact, women fought to denounce a disparity of remuneration between woman and man and want to claim an equality of salary between sex, because their salaries were lower of 15 pourcent of those of men . These woman who were machinist needlewomen of the factory Ford in Dagenham they’re launching strike in June 7th 1968. The work of the machinists needlewomen stop, the factory Ford had to stop his production. The strike has to last 3 weeks, and then, the law was established in 1970: equal pay act. So, Thanks to their courages, the women have an equality with the men on the salary today.

Conclusion :

In any way, it is the pirates radios or the machinists who have done strike in the 60s, they allowed to restore laws and equalities, even if for it, they had to fight during some time. They are all two of the people who can be qualified as hero due to their acts laborious in the 60’s years.
