Is American democracy in Danger?
D. Trump, by refusing to commit to a peaceful transfer of power if he loses US election has shown, how threaten democracy is in America.
The past several years have been a very chaotic time in the United States. However, turmoil and tension between the government and its citizens began to increase when President Donald Trump took office back in 2016. Since his arrival to the ovale office, President Trump has kept conducting controversial policies that revealed to be harmful to American democracy.
Indeed, The Trump presidency has continuously contributed to the racial divides by using negative rhetoric toward marginalized groups.
He represents a threat to American democracy because a president should be able to unite the citizens of the country and not be blatantly racist. President trump has in fact, shown some attention to the neo-fascist proud boys group this year, and not so much to BLM movement.
Another way President Trump demonstrates how he’s a threat to democracy is in his use of politics in order to not properly help Americans.
