How much does our clothing really say about us ? And should we allow other people to dictate us what to wear ?

In modern society, clothing became has become a really important thing through all continents, especially in rich countries for obvious reasons. This question of clothing is really in the mouth of everyone today, representing wealth, time periods, history and even beliefs. This is why we can ask ourselves how much does our clothing really say about us ? And should we allow other people to dictate us what to wear ? Here, I will first try to answer those questions by doing an analysis of what the impact of clothing on today’s society was is and then give my opinions on the subject based on my personal knowledge and beliefs.

To begin with, clothing was at first was only the response from humankind to adapt to weather and thus survive in the wild. But throughout history and as civilization rised rose, clothing quickly became much more and became and an object that first shows the “social class” of an individual, and as I said in the introduction of wealth. And in today’s society this didn’t change hasn’t changed much. Modes Trends are led by influent people, whether they are rich or well known, who wear expensive and “rare” clothes for the sake of it or to show off. I actually do not see any problem with that, but I cannot help thinking that it has a vast impact on us “regular” people. The fact that people from this, (pas de virgule, c’est le sujet de ‘create) creates create some kind of “hierarchy” and discrimination based on how you dress actually don’t doesn’t make sense.

In fact, in my mind, I don’t really see clothing as an important thing, but I completely agree that it can give you lots of information on the person’s likings or group/cultural belong ship. (je ne comprends pas ce que tu veux dire)But the problem here are stereotypes. In fact, I see a lot of people, and I have to admit, sometimes myself, judging people on how they are dressed and for me in the absence of other kind of intel on the person. So, we can therefore say that in fact, based on peoples look and clothing gives in a given society and time give some information on people, even thought the chance of misunderstanding is quite large. (incomprehensible)

At later stage (inapproprié – plutôt ‘after giving this matter some thought’) , I do really think that as other ways like art and speech, clothing can be a good way of expressing and showing what we like and this is why I think that the choice of what we wear only falls within our hands and our responsibilities. Thereby I think that in everyday life the choice of our clothing shouldn’t be dictated because I wouldn’t like it myself.

However, for me, in the workplace or at school, a uniform can be a good thing. Indeed, for me, It limits the bad effects of the liberty of not everyone having the same clothes such as discrimination especially in public schools where kids from a lot of different horizons and wealths meet. But this uniform or dress code as has to be respectful for everyone. I’ll explain myself. As a matter of fact, lots of the complaints about uniforms and dress codes and uniforms comes come from the fact that a lot of them are inequal between genders, especially for girls and women. In some workspaces and schools
