Doctor Who is a British science-fiction television programme produced by the BBC since 23 November 1963. 

This series was carried out by Sydney Newman is a Canadian producer of films and television, who plays a main function for the British television programs. Sydney Newman works initially with Associated British Corporation (ABC) before passing to the BBC in 1962 holding the role of director of the theatre thanks to the two organizations. During this period, it is charged to launch two fantastic series and of very popular science fictions, the Avengers and Doctor Who,[pic 2]

Doctor who is about the adventure of extraterrestrial of the race of the time Lords called the doctor.  He comes from Gallifrey planet and journey on board of Time And Relative Dimension In Space (called TARDIS), a machine being which is to travel in space and time. The doctor has 2 hearts and can been reincarnated 12 times because he is an extraterrestrial. Particularly attached to the Earth, he is regularly accompanied in his travel by companions.[pic 3]

Doctor Who is the longest series of science fiction of all times with 679 episodes including 255 in black and white. After 26 seasons, the BBC decided to cancel the series in 1989 but it began again in 2005 with a diffusion in many countries among which France and Canada. The series counts 813 episodes and is still in the course of production.

Doctor Who series very quickly became an institution in the United Kingdom. But most people and newspapers complained because of alarming and violent elements in it. However the program continued to become increasingly popular, especially amay children.

The series is so popular, that video games, cards, magazines and figurines have come out fit. The series known such a great success that it was to adapted a novel. [pic 4]

Later, costumes and accessories from the series were marketed in Great Britain but also in France.      

I think that this popularity is justified because it is something which is out of the ordinary. What I like in this series are the scenario and the productions, some episode are about well-known figures like Agatha Christie (a British novelist) or Vincent Van Gogh a painter. This series remains, the longest series ever made and when will it stop?
