For those who don’t know Black Friday, it’s a tradition coming from United States, being held the day after Thanksgiving meal which takes place the fourth Thursday of November. This date marks the beginning of the Christmas shopping period.
There are several theories about the introduction of Black Friday and the origin of its name.

Concerning the origin of the name of this special day, two theories exist.
One says that the term has existed since well before the day of the good plans we know : the first time it would have been used would date from October 1929, to designate a financial crash in United-States due to the manipulations of two businessmen to aggressively raise the price of gold.
If the catastrophe had been narrowly averted by the American government, the expression Black Friday has remained.

The second theory says that these monster sales allowed companies not to write their accounts in red, which is the color associated with the deficit, but to write them in black, hence the name Black Friday.
Changer de diapo
It was in the mid-1960s that this expression came back in force, to refer, this time, to traffic jams both on the roads and in stores taking place the day after the Thanksgiving party, that always falls on a Friday.

From this flows the origin of the day of good plans :
Since, so many Americans still take a day off to make the bridge, they take the opportunity to start their Christmas shopping.
Sellers quickly realized that by offering promotions on this occasion, they could attract more customers. This is how the tradition of making important discounts on Black Friday was born.
In France, we have been celebrating this date since 2013, and unlike the Americans, French people have a tendency to shop Black Friday on the Internet rather than in stores : because this day is not a holiday and does not follow a holiday, So no one takes a day off.
