Usually, parents should have access to time-off to care for their children or parental obligations. Contrary to parents, non-parents are not treated in the same way and this can create situations of conflict which are dangerous for small business.
Non-parents argue that they also have obligations, as elderly parents or soccer that require time-off.
That is why to avoid some problems and keep team spirit, businesses chose a « paid time » solution. This policy allows all employees to be missing without justification.
Therefore, feeling of discrimination decreases.

What do you think of flexible time off at work?
As far as I’m concerned, I think that flexible time off at work it’s an advantage for employees.
In fact, I consider that flexibility to meet family needs, personal obligations and life responsibilities. In fact, if you have flexible time off, you can go to a parent-teacher conference, do shopping, play football or be at home with your family.
There are too, some employees who need time off to attend or teach classes; other workers have a second job.
Second, I think that flexible time off at work it is a benefit for employer, it allows to keep and satisfy different employees.
I believe that, if you allows employees to have flexible time off, employer gain increased productivity and worker satisfaction, along with decreased absenteeism.
Thanks to flexible time off, a happier and satisfying workplace will be created. Because employees are often so happy that their employers allow for a flexible time off, they will work harder and more dedicated.
